Nappy Voucher – support for cloth nappies

Many municipalities in Austria and Germany offer financial support for cloth nappies, covering between €60 and 200 % of purchase costs. The voucher can be redeemed either online or in-store at popolini. Check with your local council for details.

Essential cloth nappy accessories

• 5–10 washcloths or cleaning wipes
• 2 large nappy sacks or 1 nappy bin + 2 mesh laundry bags

Washing cloth nappies – keep them absorbent and durable

Collect

• Remove liners, secure hook-and-loop fastenings
• Store in a mesh bag or wet bag for up to 3 days

Wash

• Wash with a full load; optional pre-wash
• 40–60 °C cycle (no eco-wash)
• Use enzyme-free powder detergent, no fabric softener
• In hard water areas, add vinegar as a descaler
• Sun-bleach stains naturally; avoid chlorine bleach

Dry

• Shape damp nappies before full drying
• Air-dry ideally or use low-heat dryer

For wool covers

• Hand-wash every 2–3 weeks with wool detergent & lanolin
• Soak for 3–6 hours in lanolin solution
• Gently squeeze, dry flat, and re-lanolin regularly
